ABOUT

This blog is about the future of Derby, mainly the city centre of Derby and how it could be developed to create a truly fine city.

All the ingredients are in place - a beautiful river; historic buildings and spaces; love it or hate it, a shopping centre that most cities would give their right arm for; a fantastic location; and a local population that is loyal to the cause.

There have been mistakes, quite a few, but this blog is not about moaning about past mistakes and opportunities lost but rather about how we can best develop the city for the future.

Much of the content of this blog is inspired by official documents published by the Council or Derby CityScape; or by developers or others such as those published in the local media. It is not my intention to pass any ideas off as my own, but rather to push forward those ideas and my own to hopefully spark debate and interest.
